Norwich Fashion Week is well underway and Sunday was the Dress Like a Queen Vintage Day at the Library restaurant.
The idea was that guests could have some yummy food, enjoy a glass of Champagne from sponsor Moutard and learn everything there was to know about creating a vintage look.
The first demo of the day was The Historical Sauces who gave a demo on how to create a beehive, complete with a little bit of the history behind the classic style.
Benefit Cosmetics gave a demonstration of a classic make up look, and then finally there was an epic fashion show with feature sections from Norwich’s best vintage shops.
You can see our photos from the day over on the Facebook page and the Fashion Show photos will be following shortly!
If you’re hungry for more vintage style then tomorrow night is our very own vintage event at Cinema City. There’s still time to get tickets for the screening of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes which starts at 8:30pm, but from 6pm we’ll be in the bar, no ticket required, with a vintage salon providing hair and make up tutorials with Flamingo Amy and the Historical Sauces, 50s books and memorabilia to browse through and some vintage accessories to try on to get that 50s look.
We’ve arranged Kir Royales behind the bar, and a ticket to the film will get you £5 off a bottle of Prosecco. Make sure you get your glad rags on as there’s also a rather fabulous prize for the best dressed including a full years membership to Cinema City, and one of our fabulous Vintage Norwich goodie bags which contains a copy of “Dressing Marilyn” Courtesy of Carlton Books, a limited edition print from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, a Sugar and Hatter hair flower, chocolates, jewellery and all sorts of other goodies. We’ve also managed to bag 2 books as runners up prizes as well, so make sure you show up in time to get snapped, and stick around once the film has finished!
