Last night was our Norwich Fashion Week party in conjunction with Cinema City where guests were encourage to dress to the nines and join us for a bit of a party and a very special screening of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
Out in the bar we had a selection of memorabilia from the 1950s and books about the era for people to flick through to keep them entertained and we’d arranged for the ships Captain to welcome people aboard the good ship Vintage Norwich!
We had an amazing prize up for grabs for the best dressed of a full years membership to Cinema City and a Vintage Norwich Goodie bag containing a copy of Dressing Marilyn, a numbered print from the film, a lovely Sugar and Hatter hair flower, a discount voucher from Cupcakes by Jess, chocolates, jewellery and other goodies!
Guests could make sure they looked their best for our roaming cameras by getting their hair and make up done for free by Flamingo Amy and The Historical Sauces in a secret vintage salon tucked away in a little panelled room.
After the Kir Royales were supped and the prosecco sipped, it was time for everyone else to watch the film, while we pondered our best dressed winner. It was a tricky decision with so many amazing outfits on show, but in the end we settled on our 2 runners up, and our final winner.
We snuck into the back of the Cinema and caught the end of the film before announcing the 2 runners up, who won a copy of Dressing Marilyn each; Sabelline Chicot and Nicky Downson; and our final goodie bag winner, Kate Collison.
