Our Top Tips for Autumn Shopping

September 17, 2012

The days are getting shorter and there’s a definite nip in the air. It’s time to start looking for the gaps (or the moth holes) in your winter wardrobe and hunting for coats, knitwear and boots to keep you snug all winter.

These are our top destinations for vintage style in Norwich over the next couple of months to help you top up your wardrobe whatever your budget.

The Fairs

The Vintage Fair

The Winners of the Vintage Norwich Award for Best Vintage Fair are back this October. There are 40+ stalls offering everything from homewares to fashion. Biddys runs the tea room and hair appointments are on offer from Flamingo Amy

Sip & Shop

This monthly shopping evening is back on the last Sunday of September and October. There’s always a carefully curated seasonal rail of bargain vintage goodies; expect sleeved Autumn frocks, knitwear and coats for these Autumn sessions. There are also some cracking cocktails and some excellent guest sellers.

The Little Vintage Lover Fair

A long running Norwich favourite, The Little Vintage Lover Fair returns to Dragon Hall at the end of October. A must for those looking for high quality vintage.

The Norwich Original Fleamarket

Not specifically a vintage clothing sale, but this monthly fair is always worth a look as it does have clothing sellers as well as a huge selection of antiques and collectables to browse.

The Shops

Goldfinches often have a good range of knitwear to keep out the cold this season.

Prim Vintage

A must for high quality vintage. We’ve found great faux fur coats in here before, and it’s always great for dresses.

Always a good place to hunt for vintage, Antidote’s latest addition to it’s stock is reproduction vintage knitwear. This makes it an essential stop on any autumn shopping trip as 1940s knitwear is notoriously hard to find.

Retreat Vintage

Norwich’s rock ‘n’ roll vintage store is a great place to look for accessories like gloves and scarves for Autumn. It’s also great for seperates like long sleeved blouses.
