In a sweet little shop on Wensum Street there is a hair treat, in the form of The Hairdresser. Now coming up to their first birthday, The Hairdresser caters for a wide range of styles in the comfort of their cute little salon. With it’s big gold mirrors it makes you feel like a star before you have even been pampered with your new doo.

The salon was opened on the 27th of September 2011 and has gone from strength to strength. Owned by stylists, Kirstie and Alex who have a wealth of experience in the industry. They have built a portfolio of clients, including our favourite wedding fair, a Most Curious Wedding Fair (York Hall London-6th October and St Andrews Hall Norwich-21st October) and Norwich Fashion Week. Kirstie and her gang of lovely hair styling ladies will be their to primp and prime the models in some beautiful vintage hair styles.
The Hairdresser came highly recommended to me by a friend, who is also a hairdresser, when looking for someone who could do the hair for my wedding. After perusing the website I was impressed and made an appointment to meet with Kirstie to have a chat. With my sister and mum in tow, we went along with some pictures and not much of an idea of what I wanted. Kirstie sat with us and gave suggestions and advice as to how I could achieve my dream hair on my wedding. She even helped my mum and sister out with deciding what they wanted and were even patient whilst my sister and I had a little bicker about how her hair was going to be like in typical sisterly fashion
As The Hairdresser enters their second year, they are friendly, professional and know their stuff, so if it’s a vintage up do or a head of highlights, an appointment at this super charming salon is a must. They also sell one of our favourite accessory adorners, Eclectic Eccentricities, so you could pick yourself up a little hair piece to go with your new hair style. There’s even a makeup artist, Laura, who specialises in Bridal, Vintage, Fashion make-up, and HD Brows, on hand for all your makeup needs.

If all that is not enough of a draw, then if you get booked in on their on the 27th September birthday, you can enjoy a slice of cake, and if it’s a colour you are booked in for on this day, as an extra special treat, you could get a free colour saver treatment. For students, there is a little helping hand in the form of a student discount of 10% (don’t forget your NUS card) . What more could a glamorous vintage girl wish for.
